United Airlines offering in-flight WiFi

Photobucket

United Airlines has announced that it will be offering Aircell's Gogo inflight WiFi Internet service on its "p.s." flights in the second half of 2009. The company's 13 Boeing 757 p.s. planes cover the JFK to LAX, and JFK to SFO routes. The service will cost $12.95 for the entire flight. Aircell is already partnered with American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Air Canada, and Virgin America. In a recent press release, Aircell CEO Jack Blumenstein said:

"Passengers love Gogo Inflight Internet service and the freedom it gives them to be productive, connected and entertained. Forward-thinking airlines like United are putting the power of Gogo in their passengers' hands and reaping the revenue and customer loyalty benefits that it brings."

United is my airline of choice and I take p.s. flights when I visit my parents, so I'm absolutely thrilled by this news. It's also disappointing that Internet service is limited to p.s. flights. While I've mostly happy with United -- because of its generous Mileage Plus benefits -- it's still something of a joke compared to many Asian and European airlines.

Are you guys down with inflight Internet? Or do you dread the thought of the passenger next to you streaming Mark Gormley's greatest hits? What would you do with inflight WiFi?

We have been closely covering CES '09 here at DUALSHOCKED! and we are really excited to show you some of the "BEST THINGS OF CES '09" Make sure after you read this post you go over to the right and vote on the poll. First I am going to talk to you guys about the new LG Watch Cell-Phone,

Now the only things we could see on this phone were the dialer and the bluetooth features. The touch buttons on the screen feel just the right size if you have small-med fingers. If you have bigger hands this might not be th phone for you. It also has bluetooth so you won't have to hold the phone right up to your mouth and talk. The watch itself if not to big either, and that is a huge bonus.

The next thing is a nice Sont Erricson OLED Walkman touch screen phone. Now it is no iPhone but the fact that it is OLED is awsome! The picture is great for watching movies and looking at pictures, and it has a really great non glare feature. Sony hasn't relased when this phone will be out, but by the looks of it I'm sure it will be out early this year.

The Powermat wirless charger is one of the coolest things I have seen in a long time. I found a great video of it, and I'm hoping it will be out very soon!
