United Airlines offering in-flight WiFi

Photobucket

United Airlines has announced that it will be offering Aircell's Gogo inflight WiFi Internet service on its "p.s." flights in the second half of 2009. The company's 13 Boeing 757 p.s. planes cover the JFK to LAX, and JFK to SFO routes. The service will cost $12.95 for the entire flight. Aircell is already partnered with American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Air Canada, and Virgin America. In a recent press release, Aircell CEO Jack Blumenstein said:

"Passengers love Gogo Inflight Internet service and the freedom it gives them to be productive, connected and entertained. Forward-thinking airlines like United are putting the power of Gogo in their passengers' hands and reaping the revenue and customer loyalty benefits that it brings."

United is my airline of choice and I take p.s. flights when I visit my parents, so I'm absolutely thrilled by this news. It's also disappointing that Internet service is limited to p.s. flights. While I've mostly happy with United -- because of its generous Mileage Plus benefits -- it's still something of a joke compared to many Asian and European airlines.

Are you guys down with inflight Internet? Or do you dread the thought of the passenger next to you streaming Mark Gormley's greatest hits? What would you do with inflight WiFi?

CES '09

Photobucket

We have been closely covering CES '09 here at DUALSHOCKED! and we are really excited to show you some of the "BEST THINGS OF CES '09" Make sure after you read this post you go over to the right and vote on the poll. First I am going to talk to you guys about the new LG Watch Cell-Phone,

Photobucket

Now the only things we could see on this phone were the dialer and the bluetooth features. The touch buttons on the screen feel just the right size if you have small-med fingers. If you have bigger hands this might not be th phone for you. It also has bluetooth so you won't have to hold the phone right up to your mouth and talk. The watch itself if not to big either, and that is a huge bonus.

The next thing is a nice Sont Erricson OLED Walkman touch screen phone. Now it is no iPhone but the fact that it is OLED is awsome! The picture is great for watching movies and looking at pictures, and it has a really great non glare feature. Sony hasn't relased when this phone will be out, but by the looks of it I'm sure it will be out early this year.

The Powermat wirless charger is one of the coolest things I have seen in a long time. I found a great video of it, and I'm hoping it will be out very soon!

Wish list

Well its that time of year again, and for a gamer it means alot of thinking and explaining. I know for me my parents and grandparents have no clue what Call of Duty World at War or an Nvidia Geforce 8800 gt is. Well let me help you make this a little bit easier. First find out your budget from your parent/grandparents or whoever. Once you know your limit start thinking of what you really want. Write a draft of things becuase trust me they change. I always give my list to my parents in early December so they can have time to find it all. When you finalize you list make sure they know to ask the people working, so they can help them find exactly what you want. I also put down what I want, what it is form and how much it costs.

I hope this helps everyone and have a great holiday!!

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2

That's right kiddos, Activision's hugely successful Call of Duty franchise is spawning another sequel limb with today's semi-official announcement that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is in development and set for release Fall 2009.

Photobucket

The announcement comes from a Microsoft sponsored Massive Inc. upfront where publishers showcase and talk about upcoming products to lineup advertisers prior to release. Activision didn't have any specifics to announce regarding the title, other than the fact that we'll be receiving a second helping of Modern Warfare late next year.

Playstation Home Open BETA

G4TV:

"

PlayStation Home, currently in a very large closed beta, will be available to all in 2008, according to the service's director, Jack Buser, who said:

"Like we've said, we're excited about moving PlayStation Home into its Open Beta stage this year. Once we make the move to Open Beta, everyone will have access to PlayStation Home."

It seems that they are pretty set at a soft release by using the "beta" label even though the service will be available to everyone to download."

Nintendo DSi

As sited from ign.com,

"
November 3, 2008 - Over the weekend, Nintendo released the Nintendo DSi on its official launch day: November 1st. If you were lucky enough to be on the streets of Japan, you may have secured yourself one of these coveted upgrades to Nintendo's successful DS handheld platform. But judging from our correspondents who were in Japan during the launch, unless you had prepared for the system release you probably walked away empty-handed.

While we at the IGN San Francisco office still have yet to get our own system, our Japan editors managed to snag a system for hands-on coverage. Because you might have been out doing all sorts of fun weekend-type things, we thought we'd bring to your attention all of the fun and exciting details that rose out of our editor's playtime.

Japanese Launch

It wouldn't be an official system launch without a firsthand retelling of the experience of grabbing a system. Our Japanese editors hit the streets to take photos of lines outside the stores, and while you might not see mobs of people forming to grab a system, the other thing you might not see is a DSi out in the wild: if you didn't preorder you're probably left emptyhanded. Hey, at least you can play with the store display.

Camera Hands-on Test

One of the biggest features of the new Nintendo DSi is its built-in cameras: one on the front, and one on the hinge. Also built into the new system is some incredibly fun and sophisticated software that enables users to manipulate the photo even before it's taken.

Bend the image to make people frown, stretch out their chins to make them look fat. You can even turn on overlays that'll follow the subjects' faces: put on glasses and a mustache, and even when they move the game will track their face and keep the accessories in perspective. It's a pretty cool effect and needs to be seen in action to understand.

DSi Shop and Internet Browser

One of the big bulletpoints of the Nintendo DSi features list is the brand new Opera web browser, now a part of the package as a free download on the DSi Shop Channel. With the DSi Shop, you'll be able to download free and premium content to the DSi's internal storage. The first available product on the storefront is the Opera Browser.

The original Opera browser for the Nintendo DS and DS Lite was a less than stellar affair, and one would hope that the DSi experience would be a much smoother one.

That one would be wrong. Read our hands-on with the DSi browser and you'll see how well (poorly) the new Opera browser performs on the new system.

Music Player

Nintendo has gone on the record to say that, with the DSi, it's not the company's intentions to release the best music player. But it seems that what's included in the DSi system is fun nonetheless.

The DSi does not support MP3 files; instead, it reads and plays back files in the AAC format. When the AAC file is in the DSi and being played back, you can manipulate the audio with all sorts of fun effects. Check out what we mean in our hands-on with the player.

Photo Shoot

Of course, you want to know what the system looks like, so time was spent showing off the system in and out of its box, opened and closed, on and off, and with all sorts of interesting things running on the bigger screens.

Interface Videos

With the new system comes new inherent abilities, including a fresh operating system where you can select all these new, inherent abilities and features. Our Japanese editor takes you through all the touch-screen functions to show you just how different the menus are from the original Nintendo DS."

EyePet

Sony's newest Playstation Eye game is here, kinda. It has only been announced to be released in Europe, but judging by how the game looks I'm sure it will make an apperence in the Americas shortly after.

You can draw things to life! That's hella sweet, now I wonder what happend if you punch the little guy?

SAW VI

Yes! It's official Saw VI. It was announced today on VH1's "Scream Queen" by Shawnee Smith from Saw I, II, and III. The winner of the VH1 seires will star in it.

Metal Gear Solid Existence

Yep, thats right. The highly hinted at Konami/Kojima game title has been copyrighted. Just this week Konami has copyrighted the title Metal Gear Solid Existence. Now I am sure that the game won't be hitting the shelves anytime soon, but it is nice to know I have something to look forward to after Christmas.

Metal Gear Solid Pictures, Images and Photos

Hopefully Konami can fix some of the Metal Gear Online bugs, and pack it into the next game. It is also rumored you will be playing as a completely new character.

Saints Row 2 pimp war!?

So I was playing Saints Row 2 on the Xbox 360 and I came across a group of pimps out side of the strip club. I was like WTF!? So I did my taunt, and this is what happened.

Photobucket

The funny thing was that when they were chasing me through the steets of Stilwater, they were picking up chairs and news stands,

Photobucket

Can someone tell me is this is the pimp hangout, or a little glitch.
